Treating Fears and Phobias with IN2MINDS Hypnotherapy & Coaching at the - Mandurah

Phobias are extremely common and are experienced by approximately 11% of the population at some time in their lives. Some of the most common are fear of spiders, snakes, flying, birds, fear of needles and injections, fear of open or enclosed spaces (such as fear of lifts or fear of tube trains), fear of going out, and fear of heights. Indeed, people can develop a phobic response to almost any situation.

Some common types of phobias include:

Arachnophobia - Fear of Spiders. Half of women and 10 per cent of men have a fear of spiders.

Aerophobia - Fear of flying.

Agoraphobia - this involves intense fear and avoidance of any place or situation where escape might be difficult or help unavailable in the event of developing sudden panic-like symptoms.

Claustrophobia - Fear of being trapped in small confined spaces.

Acrophobia - Fear of heights.

Carcinophobia - Fear of cancer.

Brontophobia - Fear of thunderstorms.

Necrophobia - Fear of death or of dead things

To gauge the degree to which your fear is affecting your life, ask yourself the following:

•  Do I spend an excessive amount of time thinking about my fear?

•   Is my fear affecting my physical condition?

•  When I think of this fear does my pulse increase, do my hands shake, do I feel nauseas?

•  Does this fear make me depressed?

•  Does this fear make me do things the hard way, such as planning road travel so as to avoid driving over bridges, or walk the long way to the shops to avoid a neighbours dog? Does it prevent me from going on holiday to where I would really like to go?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are likely to have a phobia and may consider hypnotherapy to remove it quickly and effectively so that it no longer intrudes into your life.

Panic Attacks

If you've suffered a panic attack, you'll understand the terror and anxiety they cause. They're very common and symptoms include heart palpitations, shortness of breath – hyperventilating, sweating and feelings of loss of control. Every symptom you experience during an attack is a natural, harmless part of your body's fight – or – flight reaction.

Panic symptoms are the direct result of the hormone adrenaline which is released when you perceive that you are in danger.
With the release of adrenaline, your blood pressure increases and breathing speeds up preparing you for muscular effort.
Your legs may shake as they are prepared for running; your hands may shake as the large muscles of your arms are prepared to fight. Although the feelings you experience are very unpleasant, they will do you no harm. You will not die, lose control or have a heart attack.

Your anxiety can be managed as long as your thoughts about particular situations are realistic and accurate. But if you overestimate the danger and these feelings are fueled by catastrophic thoughts, your anxiety will increase dramatically. Once a panic attack has happened in a situation, the mind can quickly learn to fear the situation itself. You begin to 'fear the fear' itself.
The panic response can be 'conditioned' to be triggered by the situation or environment.

The good news is that many people have recovered from panic attacks with the help of hypnotherapy, and you can too.
I believe Age regression to be the most effective and quickest form of psychotherapy available today, allowing for a permanent or significant decrease in anxiety – related symptoms.
