Quit Smoking with IN2MINDS Hypnotherapy & Coaching at the Vivacious Living Health Centre – Applecross and Mandurah

A couple of years ago the largest study ever conducted into stopping smoking was undertaken (in the USA). It studied everything from willpower, nicotine patches, positive thinking, placebos, chewing gum etc – and the conclusion was that "most techniques turned out to be hopeless, Hypnosis, however, came out as the most effective anti-smoking technique".

As long as you want to quit smoking, then a few sessions of hypnotherapy will enable you to become a non–smoker once again. Imagine how amazing it would feel to know that you've finally given up for good.

Like any addictive behaviour, smoking is not about achieving pleasure – it's about avoiding pain: the emptiness and discomfort you feel when you can't smoke. But every time you do smoke, you're creating a need for the next cigarette.

Recent studies show that most people find it hard to give up smoking because they receive no immediate or tangible benefit for doing so: they get no reward. They don't feel instantly richer, healthier or happier so the motivation to stay a non–smoker declines rapidly. Are you an Emotional or Social smoker ?

Research tells us that there are two types of smokers, Emotional and Social. Do you smoke when your out with your friends?
or when having a drink; Or maybe after meals etc; Or, do you get agitated when you don't have a cigarette; wake up in the middle of the night to smoke; go outside every hour at work for a cigarette; light up a cigarette as soon as you wake up in the morning.

The way you can find this out for yourself is by not taking you cigarettes to work one day and you'll soon find out how it affects your body and state of mind which will then play out in your emotional state.

The reason why we need to find out whether you are an emotional or social smoker, is so we can distingush what style of therapy should be used, to rid you from this health damaging addiction. If there is an emotional attachment to the reason why you are smoking, the root cause is much deeper, and needs to be found, then pulled otherwise the person will find something else to use as a distractor. This is why some people have had hypnosis before and not been successful because the emotion is driving the distractor and this is exactly the same as overeating, alchol, drugs etc. Anywhere where ever there is a distractor there is an emotional attachment.

Chemicals in cigarettes

In addition to nicotine, there are more than 4,000 chemicals, including toxins and poisons in each cigarette. Cigarette smoke
contains a bewildering assortment of toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, acrolein, hydrogen cyanide, and nitrogen oxides, to name only a few.
